The thing I love about Annapolis is that it has the feel of a small town but it has the Naval Academy and a lot of cultural events. It is easy to get downtown and walk on the cobblestone sidewalks and enjoy all the history.
Our neighborhood is great because the neighbors are friendly and always willing to help. We have a swimming pool open in the summer and get to catch up with folks we haven’t seen all winter.
I love to eat at an Indian restaurant call Basmati and the Chart House.
Grocery stores are plentiful and I shop mainly at Safeway, Trader Joes and Whole Foods When I bought this property I was drawn to the fact that it is 8 minutes from downtown and I worked downtown and that it is fifteen minutes from 97 and 50.
The Annapolis Overlook area is wonderful. I am five minutes from Quiet Waters Park where I enjoy biking and walking. People do a wonderful job on the lawns and flowers and when we have a snow storm, the landscaper moves very quickly to remove the snow from the parking lots and sidewalks.
A few other things I can mention is the Amish Market is open Thursday through Saturday every week where there is wonderful food to buy but also great furniture. This market is located at the Harbor Center which also has 9 movie theatres.
I love to go to the dock in downtown Annapolis and look at all the yachts and to feel the history of the area. I also love to do The Historical House Tour at Christmas in downtown Annapolis. We all like doing different things but I do like crafting and go to Michaels for classes and to pick up items for craft projects.
My electric is supplied through BGE (Baltimore Gas and Electric). Several years ago I chose the clean energy option and I don’t regret it. The air conditioning fees were very low ($130 – $140 monthly). Of course, I get my water and sewer through the City of Annapolis and the quarterly bills are around $75.
