This town is perfectly located within reasonable driving distance to many areas of interest. Many major highways are easily accessible as well and beautiful back country roads. Outside of peak driving times, downtown Baltimore is a twenty-five minute drive. Belair and Harford Country are less than fifteen minutes away. Towson, Timonium and points north of Baltimore are less than a half an hour away. Columbia can be reached in thirty-five minutes. Washington DC and points north can be accessed via MARC Train less than ten minutes away.
Our neighborhood is a quintessential family-oriented community. There are many families, single adults, and retirees inter-mixed among a variety of ethnicities. The active community always has joggers, dog walkers, biking, and sometimes a friendly game of kickball. With all of this activity, the community remains very quiet and respective of one another.
We love that there are so many different types of eateries nearby. Whether you are in the mood for a fantastic seafood dining experience at Conrad’s or carryout from famous Bill’s Seafood, desire to walk to the Silver Mining Company, crave Italian at Basta Pasta…or want great food from the award winning Ravage Deli…all of this can be topped off with desert at Rita’s Italian Ice.
Several grocery stores and pharmacies are nearby. Our favorites are Weis Grocery Store and Walgreens Pharmacy.
When we bought the house, we were drawn the location and solid infrastructure of the house. It is very well insulated and quiet to neighbors and outside noise. The area overall offers plenty of parks, shopping, restaurants, and nearby hiking trails at the Gunpowder River. Some people actually spend the day fishing as well!
Our utility bill are incredibly manageable due to how well the house is insulated and constructed.
One of the things I will miss greatly is the sense of community on snow days when we all surface and help each other. We have a lot of fun.
I love my house and neighborhood so much. If I were not moving to New England, I would never leave!
