Read what the Seller Says:
The Chartley Community really looks out for each other. We have a newsletter put together by the local residents. The newsletter includes things like yard sales, Chartley Night Out, Music on Main Street, Farmers Markets, Fire Department fund raisers, Reisterstown festival, local happenings, etc.
Our neighborhood is really friendly. People help each other with mowing lawns, shoveling snow, keeping an eye on homes if you’re out of town, etc. There is a nice sense of home on Walgrove Road.
There is a gentleman that rollerblades EVERY day, on his “usual” routine, to get in his daily exercise. The waste disposal and recycling crews are the absolute NICEST gentleman. The Brick Bodies across the way has an awesome pool for laps, kids, therapy, etc. Our neighbors on one side are a family with two children, and the other side is a woman taking care of her elderly mother. They are both incredibly nice and friendly.
There are so many great places to eat….
- Ice cream? The Cow.
- Pizza? Kecco’s Woodfire Kitchen
- Chicken? Chicken Shak
- Casual night out? Glyndon Grill, Harryman House
- Chinese? China Moon!
- Genova’s delivers to Reisterstown, if you’re going to get delivery, they are the BEST. We hear they have a secret family recipe for pizza dough.
The Reisterstown area has a wonderful community. We love being close to Hannah Moore Park and easy access to commuter roads. We also like that if there is a back-up with traffic on the highways, there are multiple ways to get places by using the back roads. We love to take walks around the neighborhood, head over to Irvine Nature Center for a day outside, or head up to Main Street. We LOVE Main Street in Reisterstown! They have the best little shops. The property itself backs up to Hannah Moore park and is right down the street from an elementary school. We loved being able to walk up to the school, use the playground, and cut through to the park.
We also loved being far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough for an easy commute, shopping, movies, food, etc. We are a quick drive to all of the Owings Mills Restaurants, Olive Garden, Red Robin, Eggspectations.. Or, in the other directions are Eldersburg, Finksburg, Hunt Valley, or Westminster restaurants. We have a local farmers market open seasonally by the middle school. There is also a farmer’s market open year-round on by Franklin and Reisterstown Road.
They recently remodeled the Weis, which has a great selection of items. We also have a Giant nearby and a Wegman’s in Owings Mills. For any of those last-minute items that we forgot at the grocery store?? There is a family dollar store in the Chartley shopping center, about 0.5 miles away.
When we bought the property we were drawn to the home itself, the location, and the ease of access to everything. The home was the perfect size for us, it had the right amount of rooms, spacious family room, extra room in the basement, huge laundry room, and space outside for gardening, play, or grilling and great neighbors.
The location is off the main road, has sidewalks for running and biking, it’s close to schools, a playground, and really easy access to major highways (795, 695, 140, 91). Finally, there was everything close by that we wanted… Target, grocery stores, a gym, schools, shopping, restaurants, parks…
We like all different things, we were lucky enough to have access to a gym nearby (which had a pool for swimming), a delicious variety of food selections (grocery stores/farmers markets) for cooking homemade meals, and parks/outdoor areas within walking distance. We have experienced a drop in our utility costs. We recently insulated the attic (at the end of 2018) and it helped a TON. We have city water and public septic, so no accounts to disclose.
